Concusion-What is it? http://theconcussionblog.com/what-is-a-concussion/

2011  Bulldog Winter Classic
February 18th and 19th
partners with

Play It Cool  and Shoot For A Cure

Play it Cool is a prevention program designed to educate coaches, parents, players and officials on the cause, effects and consequences of concussions in sport. I am excited to partner with Percy Minor Hockey in bringing their members the latest news and findings in the battle against concussions, spinal cord injuries, hits from behind and the senseless head shots. PIC has been developed over the last 5 years to help create a safer game and of course, playing environment. It is through education that we collectively will be able to change the mindset not the game. On February 19th Play it Cool will provide the information needed to help all of us understand what is needed to be done in this fight against catastrophic injuries. Make no mistake, there is no quick cure or pill that will end this issue only well educated and determined hockey minds. The presentations will be concise and intense and will leave everyone wanting to help make a difference. Along with a day of education, we at Play it Cool have asked some of our NHL Alumni ambassadors to play in a celebrity game to help raise awareness and funds for research through our Shoot For A Cure campaign.
